IN HERINNERING AAN BABA
“Ek het die dag gevrees waarop ek jou sal moet laat gaan
Ek kon my nie ’n dag voorstel sonder jou nie
Elke keer as ek daaraan gedink het, het ‘n koue rilling teen my rug afgegaan
En het ek soms saggies geween
Jy het my trane afgelek as ek ongelukkig en hartseer was
JY het my altyd voluit gegroet elke keer as ek by die deur instap
Jou stertjie het altyd gewaai as jy my sien
Jy het my nooit alleen gelaat nie, jy was altyd aan my sy
Al die vakansies wat ons saam deurgemaak het
Al die lang paaie wat ons gery het
Daar was niemand so na aan my soos jy
Jy het my krag gegee wanneer ek gedink het ek kan nie meer nie
Jy was my sielsgenoot, my lewensmaat, my kind, my alles
Die huis is nou stil sonder jou
Ek mis jou geweldig en hunker om jou weer te sien
Ek wou nog so baie met jou deel
Jy het ‘n goeie en lang lewe gehad
Jammer dat jy pyn moes verduur
Ek is bly jy is nou rustig
Eendag sal die hartseer stil raak
Ek sal altyd lief wees vir jou.
